Job Description

About mymuybueno

mymuybueno is a leading luxury hospitality and yacht recruitment agency, known for partnering with the world’s most prestigious private vessels and UHNW clients. We champion excellence, integrity, and a positive crew culture, placing talented hospitality and culinary professionals into roles where they can truly thrive.

We are currently seeking an ambitious, professionally trained Crew Chef for a 100m Private Motor Yacht. This is a superb opportunity for a chef with a strong restaurant background on land who is new to the yachting industry and keen to build a long-term superyacht career.

Role Overview

As Crew Chef, you will work as part of a minimum two-chef team in the galley, focusing primarily on fresh, healthy, and satisfying crew food for a large, multicultural team. You will bring restaurant-level standards to day-to-day crew dining while supporting the Head / Sous Chef as required. This is a full-time, live-aboard position with a start date of 1st September.

What You’ll Be Working On

You’ll plan, prep, and execute daily menus for crew, ensuring variety, nutrition, and consistency, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the galley. You’ll contribute ideas, support provisioning and stock rotation, and collaborate closely with the other chef(s) to deliver a smooth, efficient operation during both guest-on and guest-off periods.

Why Join mymuybueno & This Yacht?

This is a rare “new to industry” role on a highly regarded, professionally run 100m private M/Y with an amazing crew culture. You’ll enjoy a supportive galley environment with at least two chefs on duty so the workload is manageable, along with weekends off when there are no guests onboard. The vessel offers excellent standards, strong leadership, and a young, dynamic and respectful team. Through mymuybueno you gain access to an established network, career guidance, and ongoing support as you transition from land-based restaurants to a rewarding superyacht career.

Who You Are

You are a young, energetic chef with classical culinary training and a solid track record in quality, high-volume restaurants on land. You are eager to learn the yachting ropes, ready to live and work at sea, and thrive in a close-knit team environment. You take pride in clean, organised work, are calm under pressure, and genuinely enjoy cooking honest, flavourful food for hardworking crew.

How to Apply

If you meet the requirements below and are ready to commit to a serious career move into yachting, please apply via mymuybueno with your up-to-date CV, written references, copies of your culinary qualifications, and current STCW/ENG1 (if already obtained). Only candidates who clearly match the profile will be contacted for interview.

Key Responsibilities

- Design varied, well-balanced menus for an international crew, incorporating dietary needs and preferences
- Work closely with the Head / Sous Chef to ensure smooth galley operations and consistent food quality
- Assist with provisioning, stock rotation, and correct storage of all food items to minimise waste
- Maintain immaculate cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene throughout the galley, fridges, and stores
- Adhere strictly to food safety, HACCP, and onboard health and safety procedures at all times
- Support guest food preparation and service when required, following direction and plating standards
- Communicate effectively with other crew and respond positively to feedback and menu requests
- Contribute to a respectful, supportive team culture and represent the yacht and mymuybueno professionally
- Be flexible with duties and hours in line with guest presence, operations, and the vessel’s schedule

Skills & Experience

- Age 22–28, male, with a professional, mature mindset and strong work ethic
- Formal culinary training from a recognised culinary school or apprenticeship
- Solid background in quality, fast-paced restaurants on land (e.g. bistro, brasserie, fine or casual dining)
- New to yachting or up to one season’s experience, with clear motivation to build a long-term yacht chef career
- Passport and right to work/obtain visas for travel; open to Kiwi, Australian, British, Irish, and European nationals
- Available to start around 1st September and commit to the vessel’s rotation/contract
- Physically and mentally fit for life at sea; willing to share cabins and follow yacht protocols
- Strong knowledge of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen organisation (HACCP level understanding)
- Positive, team-focused attitude with excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn from senior chefs
- STCW, ENG1, and Food Safety Level 2/3 preferred or a genuine readiness to obtain before joining
