Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and polished Sole Chef for a 55m Private and Charter M/Y for the upcoming season. The right candidate will join a well-equipped galley team, assisting the Sous Chef who has been on board for about a year. This role involves catering to charter guests with varying preferences, delivering formal and informal gourmet dining experiences. The position is temporary, extending only for the current season as they will head into a yard period after. An exceptional candidate will be rewarded with a highly competitive salary in Euros. The expected start is around the 25th of May, as you will join in Italy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plan and prepare menus offering a mix of formal and family-style meals, focusing European cuisines, tailored to owner and guest preferences. 2. Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene within the galley. 3. Collaborate with the Sous Chef to maintain an efficient and well-organized kitchen environment. 4. Manage inventory, sourcing, and provisioning of high-quality ingredients while ensuring compliance with dietary and budgetary constraints. 5. Engage with guests to understand their culinary preferences, customizing meals and experiences accordingly. 6. Coordinate with other departments to enhance overall guest experience on board, particularly during charter seasons.

Skills & Experience

1. Proven experience as a Sole Chef or similar position on luxury yachts or high-end hospitality venues. 2. Culinary arts degree or equivalent professional culinary certification. 3. Exceptional skills in creating diverse menus, particularly European cuisines. 4. Ability to adapt to varying guest preferences, offering both formal and family-style dining experiences. 5. Strong organizational and leadership skills, with experience in coordinating with kitchen staff. 6. Valid STCW, ENG1, and Food Safety & Hygiene certificates.
