We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Sous Chef to join the Galley Team onboard a prestigious 100m Private M/Y. This is a permanent role offering an exceptional opportunity to work in a luxury environment with an energetic and professional crew. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in similar yacht settings, a strong foundation in international cuisines, and a proactive, can-do attitude. Knowledge of kosher cooking is a plus, but not essential. This role demands an individual who thrives under pressure, is flexible, and can deliver outstanding culinary experiences to meet guest expectations. The position comes with a lucrative package and requires someone who is ready to start as soon as possible.
1. Collaborate closely with the Head Chef to plan, prepare, and execute menus that meet the high standards of discerning yacht guests, including adapting dishes to dietary restrictions or preferences. 2. Maintain the smooth and efficient operation of the galley, ensuring strict adherence to hygiene, health, and safety regulations onboard. 3. Assist in provisioning, stock control, and inventory management to maintain the availability of high-quality ingredients while minimizing waste. 4. Prepare and cook dishes to exacting Michelin-level standards, ensuring presentation and taste consistently exceed guest expectations. 5. Provide leadership and mentorship to junior galley staff, fostering a productive and harmonious work environment. 6. Respond effectively to last-minute changes or requests, maintaining flexibility and a solutions-oriented mindset in a high-pressure environment.
1. Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef, preferably on yachts of a comparable size or in a luxury hospitality environment. 2. Strong expertise in international cuisines, with extra consideration given to candidates with Michelin-level training. 3. Fit, energetic, and able to manage the physical demands of the role on a busy yacht. 4. Knowledge or experience with kosher cooking is highly desirable but not mandatory. 5. Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic and demanding environment with excellent time management skills. 6. Must provide exceptional references, showcasing professionalism, teamwork, and a positive attitude without interpersonal drama.
